If you are looking for a new career and are interested in cars then one in car maintenance could be right for you. You may be able to get an apprenticeship where you would earn as you learn the trade or you could do a college course where you would get a qualification at the end but would not earn whilst taking the course. You may however be able to do the course where you also do a placement say one day a week with a garage to get hands on experience and who may pay you too.

If you just want to learn a bit about car maintenance so that you can do some repairs to your own car to save money then there are some good manuals that you could buy. Some are just general car maintenance manuals but you can get them specific to your make of car. Until you have qualified by whatever means you choose anything more than just general maintenance should be left to the professional’s. Something like changing the brake discs maybe not so hard to do with the right tools and knowledge but pretty important to get right, they do stop your car after all.
